Jyväskylä Educational Consortium
Jyväskylä Educational Consortium is one of the largest institutions of vocational education in Finland. It provides instruction to 6000 youth and to 12000 adult students every year. Jyväskylä Educational Consortium consists of the following units: Jyväskylä Institute of Adult Education, Jyväskylä College, Jämsä College, Jyväskylä Apprenticeship Training Center and Restaurant Priimus. Internationalisation is part of the every day life at Jyväskylä Educational Consortium: the aim is to provide students opportunities for acquiring the facilities and skills they need to meet the requirements of an international work environment both in Finland and abroad. Since 1996 Jyväskylä Institute of Adult Education has developed vocational training in Russia and in other neighbouring countries. Ever since Finland joined the European Union in 1995, Jyväskylä Institute of Adult Education has increasingly aimed at enhancing its role in Central Finland as an expert in providing information services and training concerning the European Union. Many transnational projects have been initiated and conducted within the framework of EU-programmes and through bilateral arrangements. The transnational co-operation network covers almost all member states of the European Union, Russia and Vietnam
